MUA Haul

My MUA haul has landed:) The other week i was feeling a bit bored and started mooching around on some beauty websites. Ever since i discovered the 'Heaven and Earth' palette i have been a huge fan of MUA. Their prices are just incredible and the quality is outstanding.
Here as you can see i have bought 3 eyeshadows, one lipstick, lip balm and primer. I do look in my local Superdrug at MUA products but unfortunately they are usually messy or all the good stuff is sold out!

Swatched

Top is the lip balm Sugar Lips £1
Bottom Lipstick Shade 4
Both are pretty sheer, while at the moment i am in to my super vibrant pinks these could be worn on top of other colours to give them some gloss or alone as a fresh natural look.
Swatched

Left - Shade 11
Middle - Shade 27
Right - 29
All £1!!!
The primer to add my ever growing box full £4. I will be doing looks etc and writing full reviews. How gorgeous and pigmented are these shadows. Good on MUA for providing bargainous yet quality make up!x

Holiday buys

My holiday is less than 8 weeks away now yey! I generally have quite a few holiday clothes that sit nicely in a drawer waiting their turn :)...so never need to buy too much new stuff!
I wanted a new pretty side bag this year..I'm more a huge handbag girl in this country but do find it easier abroad with a side one.
How pretty is this?! £6 Primark...absolute bargain x

And with all the sunshine this weekend...time to get pedicure ladies and get those toes out! Primark again I think £6.

Anyone else hunt any good holiday bargains?x

Speed up!

Im always in a rush in the morning! While trying to be one of those super serene ladies who float out of bed in the morning...do a spot of yoga and eat porridge i realise that will just never quite be me.
Im more a "damn lets get this done in 20 minutes" kinda girl:)
So recognising this i do lots of things the night before to make my morning easier - pick my outfit and accessories, make lunch if needed and most importantly ive been making changes to my make up storage to make things faster. While i love applying make up slowly for an evening out i realise that in the morning it requires speed and military precision to get that polished look in 20 minutes:)
I got a cute little mug in this vintage inspired printed Cath Kidston tin.

Inside all my lipsticks...i never know which shade i want till the day so rather than rummage around in make up bags and boxes they are all here, quick simple and easy to find.

Im also considering some muji storage..haven't quite decided yet. Anyone else do anything to speed up their make up routine?x

No7 vouchers

Well ladies March 25th was the last day to spend your Boots No7 vouchers so i hope you haven't got any lurking in your purse! That usually happens to me and so to avoid that this time i put them all together in my purse and went to Boots on my afternoon off.
My purchases!

While its £5 off i still ended up spending a fair bit as few of these products were pricey.
I got a back up of the new Airbrush Away Primer as i absolutely love it and this beauty will be getting a review of its own as its more than worthy. Price £19.50
Beautiful Skin Vitality Eye Roll on - £12.50 claims to sweep away signs of tiredness and over time reduce puffiness and dark circles.
Lipliner - £7.50 'Plum'.
Lipsticks all £10 and swatched below. (Shades also listed)

Top
Stay Perfect 'Classic Rose'
Stay Perfect 'Divine'
Sheer Temptation 'Delight
Loving all my purchases so far...reviews to come.x

Weekend Beauty Haul

This weekend beauty haul is becoming a bit of a regular post and i swear every weekend i try so very hard to stay away from those make up counters.
Anyway i was in Debenhams when i saw the Smashbox Counter!!!! I literally nearly screamed, for all you beauty buffs out there you will be very aware of this American brand that has been around for about 20 years and you must have been scouting products online! Scout no more ladies Smashbox has finally landed in the UK!
The primer is something i have always heard great things about so i thought i would give it a go. I bought the photo finish luminizing one which looks dark but when blended just a beautiful dewy glow. Im thinking summer primer perhaps?! Anyway with a hefty price tag of £30 im really hoping this lives up to expectations. Im writing this post on a Sunday night and i quite often save new make up till Monday morning to make the getting out of bed process a bit easier:)

Another pink lipstick i hear you cry?! Why yes! How gorgeous is this! My new summer shade for sure.

Swatched.

Me with it on! Ill be doing a face of the day breakdown here - skin products and lips only as my eyes are hidden behind my mahoosive sunnies:)

Have a great week all x

Badger Balm Collection

Well im getting quite the little collection of these products now aren't i?! I first heard about them on twitter and thought id order them...no expectations but now im wondering how i ever lived without them!
I ordered them from a website called Bath & Unwind and i cant praise them enough, fantastic customer service, quick delivery and great prices. They have incredible brands on there too so be sure to check it out.

Now on to the products....my sleep balm lives on my bedside table and theres not a night that goes by where i don't reach for it. This one has undertones of Lavender and Bergamot.

Clear Mind Balm - for those stressful moments...a firm favourite in my handbag.

Cheerful Mind Balm - Whenever i need that pick me up.
Honestly...my advice...order now!!! You wont regret it.x

Carmine is no more....

Ok ladies I'm sure most of you know about this but for those who don't I'll fill you in. Carmine are no more...
All subscribers received an email saying "Glossybox and Carmine are joining forces"! My initial thoughts...what?!?!!! Many fellow beauty bloggers were unhappy with this, myself included. While I subscribe to both I feel that Carmine has the edge. I hope Glossybox improve their boxes now rather than be as hit and miss as they have of late.
I'm now on the hunt for a new subscription. Hmmm decisions. I read this article http://blog.shesaidbeauty.com/2012/03/14/carmine-product-buying-director-joins-she-said-beauty/
The product buying director from carmine is moving to she said beauty...this makes me happy! I'm thinking for me it's between this box and jolie...but after reading this news I'm up for giving she said beauty a go!
What are other carmine subscribers doing?x

Nails of the Day

I couldnt wait to try out one of my new O.P.I colours once i got my hands on them so a quick extra nails of the day post.
This was done using the colour 'You're a Pisa Work'
available online at :
www.chemistdirect.co.uk

Botox in a Bottle?!

I may only be 27...with the faintest of lines slowly appearing and yes occasionally have the whole Botox rant! Anyway while strolling through Sainsburys I found this Nip + Fab brand which I've never heard of and 1/3 off all their products. This little frown fix is basically a brush on clear gel that claims to reduce lines in 10 minutes?! Botox in a bottle?! Who knows...I'll try and report back!x

Macadamia Oil Review!

Where have you been all my life?!!!
I bought these beauties a few weeks ago at a discounted beauty store at McCartha Glen East Midlands. I use these every time i blow-dry and straighten my hair and these literally transform my locks from the tangled wet mess i come out of the shower with to big glossy yet soft locks! I am a big fan of moroccan oil but these have blown me away! Especially the healing oil spray. You only need a few squirts of this through damp hair and you wont believe how soft your hair is once dried. I put my hair through its paces with all the drying, straightening and curling but these 2 little wonders have truly restored my hair to health! I will be repurchasing these products in a heart beat and next time im at the store i will be trying out other products from this range.x

No7 Beauty Vouchers

I truly love those No7 beauty vouchers...I've got a bazillion of them to spend so off I went this Saturday! Now I think I've got most of this counter already so finding something new and interesting is no easy task however my eyes were drawn to their new primer and eyeshadow palette.

Inside the palette. All pretty nudes and browns so perfect for everyday use.

Swatched.

All very soft and very pigmented. Actually quite looking forward to using!
And the new primer! Anybody reading my blog knows of my primer obsession so I couldn't wait to try this...but at £19.50 a pop I thought id try it before using the rest of the vouchers on more!

Full reviews to come soon ladies x

Now im doing this project pan 10...this is my first product, i will be using this daily until i finish it! Ill fill you in as i go along x

Project Pan 10.

Now ladies...'Project Pan 10'?! What is this i hear you ask....
So one evening im there moaning...well sort of on twitter that i have so much make up and so many skin care products...partly due to my ridiculous weekend hauls and my beauty box subscriptions that im seriously getting product build up! Beautiful make up is getting forgotten and thrown into the back of drawers..and quite frankly its time i started using/finishing it!
So basically ill be picking 10 items over the next few months...finishing them off and giving you regular updates on them and full reviews at the end.
A few of us have decided to do this:
Sam

Ill be posting links of their project pan 10 once they are underway x

Bare Minerals 'Mineral Veil'

I recently purchased this Bare Minerals 'Illuminating Mineral Veil' from the online store Chemist Direct, i found it here cheaper than in stores and other online outlets. They have a huge range too so of course I didn't just buy this:)
Anyway back to the product...it has taken me a while to try Bare Minerals i admit, i was never too sure what all the hype was about as i was always lured to brighter counters like Dior, Chanel and YSL! Boy have i been missing out. This beautiful powder leaves my skin looking so so fresh and bright. When i first opened it my reaction was eeeekkk shimmer!!!
Swatched

However when blended with a brush its gone, and across your face your left with beautiful fresh bright skin. What i love is that the powder is so so fine it sets your make up perfectly yet you cant feel it and it never leaves you with that awful cakey look.
Blended

This im guessing will last me a while as you don't need to use much but i assure you all that i will be repurchasing this for sure.x

GlossyBox March - The Harrods Edition

Look what dropped through my door....made my Monday...the much awaited and talked about Harrods Edition Glossybox!

Right so my expectations once the 'mystery box was revealed'...my mind was racing to theb expensive and luxurious brands that may be in store...
I wont bore you with inside box pictures...the inside was black tissue with a green harrods ribbon lets get on to the fun stuff!
The contents..

From left to right
Burberry Beauty Miniature Lip Mist Copper No202.
Forever Youth Liberator Serum
Narciso Rodriguez - For Her Eau De Parfum
Molton Brown - Heavenly Ginger-Lily Moisture Bath & Shower.
Clarins - Extra Firming Body Cream
Now for the close ups and individual thoughts -

I do love Molton Brown as a brand, not something i generally fork out for so great to receive in a box. This smells beautiful and ill be taking this on my jollies.

Well well well what do we have here....only the worlds 'best' new revolutionary serum that everyone went crazy about pre ordering. Ill be giving this a go and be reporting back to you all with a full review.

This has got to be the cutest little lipstick ever! I especially love how the burberry pattern is imprinted in to the lipstick. Anyway as cute as it is this colour is not for me i prefer pinks. It has found a new and loving home...my sisters make up bag.
Swatched

Another Clarins product, lovely to try...a little to expensive to repurchase.

Right so...am i unsubscribing (i know many have as they were disappointed with both this month and last months box)...NO!
I wasn't bowled over as there was no full size products however the quality of each brand and size is pretty good. You certainly get your moneys worth if you work it out. Also the whole point of beauty boxes is to give you the chance to try luxury brands that you wouldn't normally just risk spending your money on for full size products.
Ill be using all these products for sure and ill fill you in on my thoughts along the way x

Must Try Monday!

This little luxury sample came along with a Carmine box at some point if my memory serves me correctly and my skin needs some help on the radiance front right now so this week ill be giving this a go! Ill let you know how it goes. Have a great week all x

Saturday, 10 March 2012

The verdict is out!

This weeks product was Steam Cream. I received this in Februarys Carmine box and squealed with excitement, i always see them in Boots and love the cute packaging but was never sure whether what was inside lived up to the hype!
It does:) Its a completely natural product with a gorgeous herbally smell and i truly love it!!! I will be repurchasing this for sure...its most definitely worth its £10 price tag x

Beautiful!

Have a fab weekend!x

Creative Nails

So this weekend was a girly one for me starting with nails first thing in the morning. Taking off my new opi colour (which I'm yet to share with you) and go back to French as the weather had gone back to dull and boring. Anyway the lady doing my nails had got gold gliterry tips and blingy bits that I just couldn't stop staring at!!! I had to take a picture to share with you all...and become daring enough to get them myself! What do you guys think?x

Weekend Beauty Haul

No weekend would be complete without some make up shopping right! Well actually i was attempting a spending ban...i didn't even last one day...i guess those things just aren't for me.
Anyway i got a call from House of Fraser inviting me and a friend to go and take a look at their latest collection...(however the urban decay palette didn't feel too new as I've been reading about it in what feels like forever).
Ok the make up artist did my eyes using 'Verve' and 'Busted' and did a good job. Now came the decision....do i truly need this in my life? Not really no...did i buy it....yes. Im not sure how i feel about that decision either...it was kind of like completing a dvd series of a programme you have already watched.
Either way i used it this morning and will continue to do so just to prove to myself it wasn't a waste of money. I may just keep these 2 naked palettes out and try different colours daily.

A closer look at the colours, i wont swatch or anything until i do a more in depth review and some photos.

The other two products shown the picture are a 24/7 glide on liner. This i was hugely impressed with, its the blackest liner I've ever used and its staying power is phenomenal. I can never get anything to stay on my water line but i have to say i applied this at 8am and at 3pm it was still there...worn slightly but there.
The other product is a lip crayon in the colour 'Lovechild', a gorgeous baby pink that looks super fresh taking me into spring. It applies beautifully and gives a surprisingly rich colour payoff and shine.
Ok ladies enough rambling for now ill let you know how i get on with my purchases...and my opinion on the pallette.x

Opi Nicole and Brights

Whilst browsing online last weekend picking up my bare minerals collection I also stumbled upon OPI colours on Chemist Direct and they are only £7-8 I must have a bazillion nail varnishes but that never really stops me buying more. Anyway I've seen these colours online at some horrendous prices which always stops me buying them but £7 is more than reasonable.
So the colours I've picked to take me into summer are: L-R
You're a Pisa Work
Nicole collection (Kardashians) Sensational Scarlet
Cha-Ching Cherry.
O.P.I are amazing quality and i cant wait to get using these!
Get your hands on these beauties before they sell out x

Must try Monday!

It's nearly beauty box time again (glossybox the harrods edition) and I've still got a box full of things to try!! I was in love with the gorgeous steam cream as soon as I laid my eyes on the pretty little pot so this week I'm going to use it and see how good the contents are!
